Supporting the Sudanese lost boys and girls that have fought in the war and celebrity the heritage of Sudan.
A brief summery of Sudan history:
Sudan, the largest country in Africa in the Northeast region, has been fighting a civil war for two decades trying to form a United Islamic Sudan. The Northern gain so much power destroying homes and killing men, women, and children. Many children that have survived were kidnapped away from their homes by the north to be trained to fight against the south. In the meanwhile, they grew up in the military forgetting who they are... and many have died from the genocide.
The children that were capture, which are now called the Lost Boys, have fled seeking a chance of survival from the Holy Jihad of the North. Many died along the way with terrible diseases, animal attacks, and starvation. Thank you to the country of Ethiopia and Kenya giving the Lost Boys an opportunity to survive.
In 2001, thousands of Lost Boys were reward to enter the United States.

ExtraVaaKhanga brings African-inspired fashion to downtown Minneapolis

This weekend downtown Minneapolis will welcome an international showcase of multicolored design when it hosts the 2009 ExtraVaaKhanga fashion show, a three-day celebration of African influence on international fashion. The headlining event is a multi-designer runway show on Friday at 8:00 p.m. at the Graves 601 Hotel. The show gets its name from the colorful khanga, a patterned garment traditionally worn in East and Central Africa, which has been recently adopted by contemporary African designers....
